"The theory of a naked body" is a catalogue accompanying an exhibiton at the Kaunas Photography Gallery.

‘In photography, the nude has always been peculiarly mystified. The atmosphere becomes particularly charged when the photographer and the subject are of different genders. While flicking through the genre’s image archive and, one after another, putting into pages the photographers’ works created before the country regained independence, one cannot help but question the validity of these two different intentions – to create an artistic image using a naked body and to see a naked body under the guise of photography.’

- Exhibition curator Donatas Stankevičius
