Today, migration is a phenomenon worldwide. People leave their homes, some because they are forced to and some because they want to. The arrival in another country is often filled with hope, nevertheless in the long run it often means the loss of cultural, linguistic and social identity – it is a life in “two worlds“. Annet van der Voort photographs young people from 50 different European and non-European countries. In brief interviews, the youngsters talk about their dreams of acceptance, wealth, success and happiness.
