A book of photographs by Josef Koudelka in 1968. It should be published in Czechoslovakia. But that did not happen, because the photographer had to leave the country for political reasons. In Paris was a changed output: It contained a selection of sixty photographs, the Roma from eastern Slovakia showed. She appeared in France in 1975 under the title Gitans, la fin du voyage and in the U.S. and became one of the most important photo books of the 20th century.
For Roma Josef Koudelka has revised his original design and enhanced. The book now contains all of 1962 to 1971, resulting photographs from Bohemia, Moravia and Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, France and Spain.
