At once majestic, full of finesse and unexpected, Charles Fréger's photographs always possess a powerful aroma of authenticity. In this book, we find ourselves in India with the ‘Painted Elephants’ series: magnificently adorned with paint, fabrics and jewellery for the Jaipur Elephant Festival, the elephants lend themselves to the game of photography and invite the reader to travel and dream.
This book accompanies the Fabula exhibition on Charles Fréger's photographic series, which took place from 7 October 2017 to 7 January 2018 at the Matmut Contemporary Art Centre in Saint-Pierre-de-Varengeville (76).
