The work of Gilbert Garcin is a comedy to various hundred acts as said La Fontaine fables, but a moral support. Images in which he depicts are not self-portraits, or chapters of a rewarding imaginary biography. Instead, each photograph is autonomous figure perfectly clear action in its progress and its purpose, and that smile of his protagonist‘s misadventures. This means that all these images are marked with humor. This is all the more effective – we know that humor likes the implicit – that the climate of these images is always in-between, between humor and pathos, between fun and fear, between strange and absurd . This ambivalence that multiple photographs of Gilbert Garcin always intimately affect their viewers as they always are in any way an echo their concerns, correspondences with their conception of life, suggestive situations of their desires and frustrations.
