Rivers and streams fill up and spread themselves across the forest. The igapos appear and with them the most beautiful landscape that can be seen in the forest.
Months later, the rains become scarce and the waters slowly return to their original river beds. As a result of retreat, on the left bank of the river Solimoes, where lies the natural reserve of Mamirana, small ponds are created. In the ponds, many pirarucus, a kind of fish that can pften weight over 300 pounds, find themselves trapped.
