The car is an important means of transport in the area where I live. From inside, one watches as scenes of the boundries between nature and humanity, or rural and urban, appraoch and then recede, through the pane of the windshield. This repitition of scenery is impressed upon the recollections of those who live in the country, eventually to form memory.
Of the scenes stored in one's recollections, there may be some that bring back memories of loathing or sadness, which one would prefer to forget, in addition to those that are pleasureable. We are obliged to live on, carrying all these scenes somethere within our physical beings. Such are my thoughts as I grip the steering whaeel , with camera in one hand.
These photographs were taken in the eastern region of Okayama Prefecture where I live, as well as familiar locales that I sometimes visit.
