It all began with a bouquet of wildflowers that I picked myself, right in the middle of the city. I placed them in a glass container on my living room table and wondered how long their vibrant colors would last and which flowers would endure the longest.
With my camera, I observed and documented the aging process daily, fascinated by the grace and fragility of the plants. The bouquet became a symbol of nature and its constant transformation.
As I looked at the pictures, I noticed that there was an above and a below. Only then did I recognize the beauty of the murky, filthy water.
This process led me to discover beauty in imperfection and to celebrate the passage of time. The handmade zine is published as a limited edition of 20 copies.
Gabriele Rammesmayer, born in 1972, lives and works as an artistic photographer in Innsbruck.
