In his long career as photo-journalist Thomas Hoepker has travelled the world and photographed many dramatic situations for newspapers and magazines. But he also had an eye for crazy, curious and funny moments and encounters, that we have compiled in this splendid picture book.

Elliot Erwitt says: Humor in fine photography generally is notably lacking. How refreshing therefore that Thomas Hoepker, a traditional practitioner of the art, has given us so many fine crafted seriously funny images to contemplate.

Successfully extracing visual fun by direct observation of our human comedy is to my mind one of the great personal achievements and Thomas Hoepker in Strange Encounters hits the mark every time. Nothing else to say.
