It's a Lovelly Morning
It all started with a found note.
A creased and half-faded feel-good message signed “mum”, found on the London’s Regent’s Canal on a sunny day.
“Hi J. Life is what you make, It so get out of bed and go shopping. Its a lovelly morning (sic) chill out and enjoy it .. Mum xxx”.
The day after we found 10 boxes of Kodak stereo transparencies in Holloway. The yellow boxes contained scenes from the English countryside and seaside, 1960 to 1970. The name of the photographer is unknown, Mr G. according to the receipts.
Eclisse #1 It’s a Lovelly Morning is about making a move in a time of crisis. The first short story of “Eclisse” serie, now available again in a large format revised edition
Italian Matters
A short story about the italian dream. Eclisse #2 Italian matters is a blues song in reverse about Italy.
What happens when you sing a blues song in reverse ? You regain your job, your car and your wife.
It’s a story of optimism, it retraces the years of the economical boom, the threshold between a world of traditions and the modernity,
it’s a merry serenade about the Italian dream: the family, the seafood, the football, Naples, the early industrialization.
The past is not the main player here, what matters is the timeless space the book creates between its covers and the way it deals with old values, stereotypes of a country and the quest for a national identity.
Eclisse is Akinabooks’ aperiodical series of monographic handmade booklets, printed and hand-sewn. Every issue features a short story by an emerging photographer.
Each monographs’ subject is placed in perspective through narration.
The first numbers of the series sold-out quickly and following the request of our readers we are now publishing a new and revised edition of the classic titles of the Eclisse series.
Few copies of Eclisse #1 and #2 are now available as a bundled set.
