Self taught, Scabar became known for his originality of Il teatro delle cose of 1999, a work that marked his stylistic turning point. Devoted to a poetic research that focused on the essentiality of objects and their forms.

The exhibition for this book followed the chronological trend of Scabar’s work – distinguishable in two phases: a first en plein air, of the Reportage genre. Then, a subsequent more experimental and reflective one where, from the nineties onwards, he defined his artistic figure by a more avant garde style.

His artistic production becomes more and more conceptual, coming to focus on the value of the “cut” in photography. Focused both on the framing at the moment of shooting. As well as a material cutout, a posteriori, of the photographic print.

Scabar focuses, above all, on the material aspect of the subjects. Investigated both in black and white as well as in color, with a series of Still Life on which he calls the philosophy of the „silence of light“ to signify the condition of soft illumination of his works.
